A C4 Super Dana 44 that is woohooo...finally. Out goes the old diff, I had already started on modifying the batwing for a toe control setup but now w/ the C4 one it'll be easier to do. I can't wait to get it (it's in Germany) and mount it on the frame..no more weak POS diff for me
meaney is putting over 1200 ponies in his, surely his has been modified in some shape or form. I'm going to overhaul this one also, polish the case and such to make it more reliable. But if I don't dump the clutch it should be fine. The stocker is as weak as a wet noodle, I managed to wreck one w/ an almighty crossfire
Well since turbos don't come on with a bang you'll probably get away with it. Thats what I like about turbos, they're easier on the drive-line, and an efficient way to make big HP.
I was gonna go with 1/8th front and rear toe in, 3/8 to
1/2 degree negative camber and about 2 1/2 positive caster or more.
Front and rear toe in causes some self correcting factors while driving with your hands off of the steering wheel. Or for people that can't really drive and need a car that they can nearly be on auto pilot on straight roads.
Toe in does create thrust because the tires are scrubbing. Zero toe rear and toe out from is for real lateral - G machines. I just have both front and rear at zero.

Does toe out just allow quicker more responsive turning or does it allow the car to stick better? Would some toe in on the rear make it less tail happy.
Static toe out creates wandering exaggerated by wide tires and uneven roads and obstacles/bumps that the suspension has to negotiate. I kind of like the extra stability, the only time I'd opt for toe out was if it was for autocrossing or a road course, for the street losing the stability benefit of toe in is not an option IMO. This all because I want to drive on the street, sure a racer will sacrifice stability for just thta quicker bit of steering...but not on the street.
Excessive toe in creates tire scrub but so does toe out. Excessive inboard wear on toe out and excessive outboard wear on toe in.
What car of yours is faster? yes, your vette is faster than my vette (10 mph faster ) but I think my truck would kill your vette and it doesn't list like the herald of free turtleprise

I'll have to start playing with different settings on the rear. I could care less how fast the car turns in. The main thing is not to have a rear end that has a mind of its own, or one that is excessively loose. That has been my main problem with my car is feeling like your going to spin when going 8/10s.
My car lists but not as much as the majority of C3s. I was running 550/420 with 1 1/8 front bar in a lot of my picts. Your's would have listed more than mine before your mods if you were able to push as hard as i have. You just can't safely do that on the street.
If you want to run your truck (hell even your vette) on a road course with me i just might be able to finally gain some of your respect. But i guess i have to wait for you to get your competition license. You think you will ever pursue that?
