Default Help, Lifters Rattling

I adjusted my lifters last night because I put on stud girdles. I just turned my car on this morning and the engine fired, ran for a second, I turned it off.

The lifters were rattling. Is this because they don't yet have oil pressure? Should I crank the motor with the ignition wire pulled to get oil pressure and then fire it? Or did I just adjust them incorrectly? ...I'm kind of afraid to fire it up again without knowing, I don't want to break something.

Here's how I adjusted them. I screwed the poly lock down until I felt resistance. With all the slack taken out, which I believe is zero lash. Then I did a half turn of preload. This all done on the cam base circle. (EOIC) Intake adjusted when the exhaust begins to open, exhaust adjusted when the intake is almost closed.

I'll answer my own question.

Yes it was fine. I pulled the ignition wire, cranked the starter and built oil pressure for a good twenty seconds. Fired it up and all is well.
