Default Spreader bar install help!

I see that spreader bars come welded, or for cars with a fan, they come unwelded. I understand that the unwelded bar is for a motor with a fan on the water pump. My question is why can't I remove the water pump and install a welded bar and then replace my pump? ....Or can I? Or do I need to remove the pump at all, and just the fan? I guess what my question really boils down to is, will the welded bar fit with a fan?
Thanks in advance,
TJ

problem is, once everything is in, you'll have clearence issues between the fan and spreader bar. The unwelded version allows you to move the bar forward a bit, giving room to clear the fan.

You can always get the unwelded version, mock it up and mark where to weld the brackets and bring it to a local shop. Probably wouldnt cost much at all to have it welded up.

also look for interference with the radiator shroud

Ahhhh, now I understand. The fan mounted bar might not end up in the same location as the welded bar. Got it. Thanks.
