Default 69 BB Hood Support

I am putting a stock 427 hood on my 69 and am having a problem with the support that holds the hood up when you open it. The attachment holes on the new hood are further down the hood than on my old hood and the support is too short to reach the holes. Does anyone know if there is a difference in the hood supports from year to year (there must be.....) and/or does anyone know what year hood I have? I'm thinking it must be from a 68, but not sure. If it is from a 68, are there any other differences that I should know about before I get it painted, etc???

Thanks.

Hood supports changed between 68 and 69 making the 68 support one year only. I can't recall if the 68 support is longer or shorter than the 69-up support but there are differences. There are also differences where the support attaches to the inner fender skirt. If your 69 is otherwise stock, I agree you may have a 68 hood.
