Default how big are your nuts?

castle nuts that is.... For the lower ball joint on my 70? I malled one up good when doing my spring cut. Put a standard grade 8 onto hold it till I can get a new caslte (havnt been driving... dont worry). If I remember correclty it was 9/16-18 right? I am nowhere near any of my books or the car itself, but want to place an order with McMaster Carr so I have them for when I go home.

thanks!

oh yea, rear spring bolts while Im at it.... 5/8-16 grade 8's should do it right? Im going to get 10"ers and just cut them down once installed.

Don't quote me on this, but I thought they were 9/16 for the rear. And, regular ole bolts do not have extended threads like rear spring bolts available from the vendors (VB&P), so you are limited as to how much you can cut 'em...

Oh...BTW...my nuts are huge:

Oh...BTW...my nuts are huge:

9/16 is correct

and my anatomical statistics are not up for discussion.

Lower BJ are 9/16-18 slotted nuts. Church & Morse in Meriden may have them, www.Mcmaster.com might have them too. I have one in my hand, off my 72 BJ if you need one this weekend.

Ahhh, I guess i was right.. just needed the confirmation. Thanks.... and no, Church and Morse didnt have them... that was my first stop when I was looking for them.. ended up going back to just get a standard grade 8 nut to put back on till I got a new castle.

Thanks!

thanks for the offer, but I need to order a few other things from Mcmaster as well. now time to place another order.

As a radio station manager friend once told me, "It's not the size, but the frequency that counts..."
