Default header gaskets

I bought my car with headers and havnt taken them off yet.
The gaskets are blown and I need to replace them.
What kind of gasket should i get ?
I want the aluminum ones... fel-pro i think ?
I don't know what kind of openings they have or anything.
Can anyone give me a company and a part number please ?
Thanks !

I have read that many like to use the copper gaskets. They don't blow out or leak.

I'm going to put in some Percys aluminum gaskets to give my plugs a little more clearance. If you are blowing header gaskets, theres a couple things you can try. $30 header bolts called Stage 8s, which have a locking snap ring type thing to keep them from backing out. If you keep re-tourqing your bolts and they back out and you don't want to try the Stage 8s, then some people recommend cutting a line throught the aluminum flange between the 1/3 2/4 5/7 6/8 headers to allow for expansion/contraction. Basically though, if you have your bolts torqued (and retorqued) down properly, you shouldn't blow out any quality gasket.

The aluminum gaskets are made by Percy's. I am running them right now with no problems. I was using their collector gaskets as well but I tightened them down so hard that I deformed them enough for leaks. So right now, I am using Ultrseals for the collectors. I did have Ultraseals on the headerts previously and they are also a good choice.
Couple of little tricks.
1. Make sure your header flanges are flat.
2. Cut the flanges between the two center pipes and the outside ones. Two cuts per a header flange. O-|-OO-|-O
This lets the flanges sit better without afeecting each other.

Good luck.

Earl's came out with a new header gasket which I have but haven't installed as of yet, Summit is the only one selling them right now from what I have seen, they use large insert graphite seals for around the ports which are replaceable in a thick aluminum backing, they are very impressive looking. I could never get the copper gaskets to seal on my big block, right now I have a doubled up set of paper ones on there and they work OK,once they blow out I'll put the Earl's set on.

Percs aluminum and Stage 8's.
In fact had the Percy's on before my engine rebuild and used the same Percy's after.
No problems.
