After reading some of the posts concerning removing rear control arms and seeing "sawzall" and "many blades" I was a bit worried. The good news is my bolts came out without much of a problem.
I removed them to install poly bushings. While I have the CA's out I'm wondering if I should do something with the bearings. The car is an '80 L82 and only has 69,000 miles on it. How do I check them?
And more importantly, do you guys have any helpful hints for changing the bushings and reinstalling the CA's?
I know many people use the poly bushings and have trouble with them squeeking. I seem to remember something from Van Steel saying that the rubber bushings for the trailing arm was better and lasted longer than the poly. While you have your trailing arms off is an excellent time to repack the bearings or replace them, and replace the other bushings as well and then line it up. When I did mine I did everything so I wouldn't have to worry later.

poly is not a good choice, it'll do fine everywhere else but not on the ta pivot bolt, this because of the toe changes and angular change of the ta, the bushing just doesn't only rotate but also distorts, the poly is not a good solution for that. Rubber is a better idea and if you are after total control, no deflection then a johnny bushing is the best but requires modifications to the arm.
