Current C3 prices
Anyone have a break down of current [accurate] 68 Vette pricing? I looked at nada and the gold book, but I just can't believe those prices are realistic.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Don't know prices...but I do know I got SCREWED with my 68 vert.
There are a lot of little quirkes that a 68 has that a 69 doesn't along with whatever bubba got a hold of.
I spent a pretty penny on my 68 with an aftermarket 454 from a dealership and I thought I was getting a good deal at alittle under 25k...but once I got that beaut home I have been fixing bubba's work ever since. I'll have "invested" maybe 6k before I can even driver her. But since I'm taking this one to the grave it doesn't sting too much.
the early c3's prices are skyrocketing so don't waste too much time to find that beating in your heart.
i don't know if this will help but the site-dealsonwheels.com-shows vettes 4 sale around the country so u can get some idea of what people r asking across the board.......i know one thing n that's vette prices r going thru the roof...n it's like a snowball effect in that the mid n late 60's r the hot items but are hard 2 get because of the high price so people say i'll get the next best thing...n that's why u have the early 70's starting 2 boom.....
There isn't one. Prices vary across the country. The Corvette magazines will run down the list of what sales prices have been recently at auction, but private sales are almost always lower. Despite what printed guides might show, a lot of C3s are selling for less than five figures.
I agree... I have not seen an end all be all guide to how much a C3 is worth. Corvette Black Book does come to mind. Just don't watch Barrett Jackson... the prices are waaaaaaaaaay out of line. According to Barrett Jackson... our cars are worth 1.7 Million and an autographed guitar from Sammy Haggar! hehehe
I have seen 68s go for as little as 19K that needed work and good prices are about 27K-39K for an excellent rebuilt/resotred example... all depends on quality of restoration.
In the end, a Corvette is only worth what someone is willing to pay... seriously. I have seen MINT 74 convertibles that sold for under 18K...
Yup, prices are all over the map. Check the Jan. '06 issue of Corvette Magazine. Interesting article on the entire C3 market. A lot of those suggested values are WAY higher than most people will pay.
That's a steal. What kind of shape is it in? Is it original?
The car was originally from San Jose CA. It was brought to Hawaii 8 years ago and garaged most of the time. It has blueprinted engine (not the original one), the rest of the car is mostly original. The paint job looks new.
