What do I do with my hoses for A/C compressor if I don't put my a/c back on?

I put mine in the attic!
I pulled all the aircon off of my '81 apart from the stuff on the firewall (another job still to do ). If you pull yours off I'd be interested in whether you reckon the steering feels better?

Where do the hoses disconnect? and do you have to plug anything?

I just followed them along & disconnected them. I removed the condenser from in front of the rad, a ????? (looks like metal bottle) from inside the p.side front fender & the compressor, along with a few pipes/hoses. May have been a couple of other small bits as well? This left the thing bolted to the firewall with a couple of short lengths of pipe/hose coming from it. I didn't plug anything but I guess you should do to stop internal corrosion. It's quite easy getting it all apart, the most difficult part was getting that thing out from inside the fender (whatever it's called).

The thing you speak of is the dryer. How did you manage to get a wrench in there to loosen it from the heater box?

It's not the easiest of jobs, it's just a bit fiddly. The main problem is that after taking it off then, like anything else you remove, it uncovers something else that needs a bit of R&R
