You turn the RELAY on and off (enable/disable) with the standard switch, and the RELAY switches the power on and off for the [HIGH LOAD] device.

I have been trying to switch all my high current circuits to relays. Things I would definitly recommend are headlights and electric fans. I would also suggest looking at MAD for more information. One item you may NOT want a relay is the ignition. I put a relay in for my HEI, and the engine wouldn't shut off. The alternator was creating enough of a field to keep the relay energized even when the ignition switch was turned off. There are ways to solve this problem, but I just removed the relay.
