Default Engine is back on the floor.

Well the best I can figure, my vibration is coming from the flywheel. So, I am taking the flexplate and the flywheel to a local engine builder to match balance it. (since 454's are external balanced) Hopefully they will be able to put it on a dyno to check for other vibration issues before I put it back in the car.

Keep us posted on the outcome. I must have missed the post that you were having vibration issues.

I didn't say too much about it hoping if I didn't say it out loud, it would go away. It didn't!

Feel the pain man. Deeply. Not a lot of fun to invest all that time into putting an engine in, then having it yank it out. Hope all works out!

You shouldn't have a flexplate with a 4sp....just a flywheel

It could be a 427 crank (neutral at both ends) ... or it could be an aftermarket 454 crank (some are neutral both ends) ... or it is possible someone had a shop internally balance the stock 454 (resulting neutral both ends) ... or some one may have it neutral on one end and imbalanced on the other ... best to find out exactly what the crank is BEFORE you proceed.

The flexplate was from the existing short block that I built. The car is of course a manual that it is in.
