smoothie wheel problem

I just purchased Boyd Smoothie 2's 17x8 with 4.5 backspacing. They fit great on the rear but on the front passenger side the wheel is hitting the steering knuckle arm. On the driver front it is clearing the arm by an inch. The car was in a wreck and hit on the passenger side. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it possible the arm is bent ? It doesnt look bent.

Is your frame bent? How does it handle when you drive?
How bad was the damage? Its very possible something is bent and/or out of alignment. Pics would help.

Sounds like something is bent, you shouldn't have an issue with one side if the other is fine, expecially with an inch of clearance. Pics would help!!

I bought the car after it was wrecked. Im getting ready to install the new front clip..so I have not driven it yet..the frame looks to be in good shape..most of the damage was just fiberglass.

I currently use Boyd smoothie 2's on my 79'. The offset for my 17x8 rims is 4.00" I have no clearance issues with them.
