Is anyone going to the Mid America Vette Fest in Effingham, IL? They stated 8,000+ corvettes attended last year which would appear to be quite a large gathering. Also, was anyone there last year which may be able to tell us the pro's and con's of this event?
Just looked it up again and the correct name is Corvette Funfest 2001 the event date is September 15-16, 2001 in Effingham, ILLinois.
I have been there for the past three years and it does get crowded. Tou will see almost every type of vette there is. They also have specials on parts and some vendors on hand. Get there early for decent parking.....LT
glad to find another local, I'm about 20 minutes across the river. I guess as time gets closer I'm going to try and gets some sort of group together to head up Saturday morning to Effingham, if your interested. By the way where did you get that hood, or did you fabricate it? Also I was considering changing my color to a real dark green, do you have any more pics of your color that you could send me, it looks real nice in the pic.

Its the originak hood, I just bought the car in Bloomington this year. It only has 15,.000 originak miles on it now and I plan to get it judged for Survivor next year. Will post more pics later when I learn how to do it. To tell you the truth that picture was just junk that I was using to practice posting. We usually go to Effingham together with a lot of other vettes and usually meet at the rest stop on 70.....LT
Biker--that was my 1st reaction also. Effingham is located off of I-57 or I-70 on Route 45 a little below mid point of the state to the east. Sounds like a good time. :D
It's about 90 miles East of St. Louis. I've been the last 4 years I think. It grows by a couple of thousand cars each year. When you register they give you a free tee-shirt and some other stuff along with some meal coupons. Everything is free except for your room and the eats in town. Last year Mike rented a carnival. All the rides were free! The year before he gave away a '78 Pace Car out of his musum. :D :seeya
