I am gonna be sick :bs traced the Baldwin Motion link down to http://www.motionperformance.com they now sell model airplanes and japanese dolls. What a complete loss. Pathetic. They even had the ***** to mention that they used to build the baddest cars around. Do they have no shame.
I've been thinking about a baldwin scheme... possibly silver w/ blue pearl and the stipe black w/ blue metallic... anyone got any ideas on how that would look?
That's essentially the same stripe as the WHITE ZL-1 has. The Yellow one just has the 'V' stripe on the front surround. I have a Die-cast of the white ZL-1 and it's incredible. I always wanted a silver vette with that ZL-1/Motion stripe setup.
I visited Baldwin Performance on Sunrise Highway, Long Island (I think) in the summer of 1968 during an east-coast vacation.....just because of the great reputation they had.....Phase III Camaros, Vettes, Novas...you name it.
One of their mechanics backed a 427 Nova out onto Sunrise, popped a wheelie, smoked it down to the lights, came back, got out, slammed the door and said...."Piece of crap!" After picking my jaw up off the pavement, I knew I'd visited Heaven!!!
One of the great things about being this old is the great '60s muscle-car memories. Now if I could just remember everything else about the '60s!

Why's that gonna make you sick? The guy is retired. Its him and his wife doing this mail order. He's taking it easy now, I think he deserves it, dont you? He's quite happy from what I saw. Met him a few times. Also worked on my fathers '72 BB.

You're correct. That's where it is. Even when I was younger, after the muscle cars had passed, I always saw something out front. Always some crazy cars out there. Everyday :D
I have been doing research on the Motion cars and have a lot of the old Magazines. The Corvette with the rear fast back and custom headlights is a Motion Phase III "GT". The Blue one shown is a Motion Phase III. Motion also built and sold kits for a really wild looking Corvette called a Maco Shark (with a "C") that looked like the Chevy Mako Shark showcar. (with a "K"). One story I heard from guys restoring a Gold black stripe Motion Phase III GT was that they found a bunch of switches on the console that they could not find a reason for. The original owner was found out to be a Pro football player who bought the car in his team colors. He told them that the switches were for a custom stereo system with headphones that he had installed because he could not hear his music over the loud side pipes on his high speed cross country trips.
I am sure he and his wife are very nice people and his retirement is very well deserved. I was just all pumped up when I found the website. Was thinking oh yeah gonna get to see some great cars. Was disaapointed to find japanese dolls. I dont have anything against japanese dolls or retirement. Was just hoping for more on the site than that. Not really sure how one goes from building the best and baddest cars to selling japanese dolls but to each his own. Wierder things have happend. I think I will stick to my C3 and leave Barbie for the Mustang boys  Best wishes.
what about these, i was told by a friend that these pics were of a Baldwin Motion vette... what do you think of them even if they aren't of a BM vette?
this is the first time i've tried to post pics so have patience if it doesn't work i will try and fix it.
