I have an after market chrome alternator with no markings that has gone bad on my 82 Vette. I pulled the 82 specifications and it list a DelcoRemmi 63 amp alternator part# 1103103 as OEM equipment. I am getting conflicting reports of what actually came on the car and what I need to install. The car has AC and rear defrost. Some say I need the 63 amp alternator and some say I need the 70 amp alternator. What do I need? Will either of them fit on the car without modification to the mounting brackets? Any good recomendations for a specific manufacturer, model number and a who to buy it from?
According to My restoration book Your car originally came with
a 70 amp. #1101075 Delco alternator. There are also a few cases
where a #1101071 Alt. were found to have been used as original.
I have no idea where to find a correct numbered alt. as I have been
looking for one for My 77 for a long time with no success.
Hey, maybe 82 LS1 can fix You up.

Go to Advance auto parts and order the Delco rebuilt alternator for your car. Should be the correct numbers.
