Default SB Build up Help

Hey Guys

I have two GM marine #14093638 5.7 4 bolt blocks with #14096217 heads and #14096242 high rise intakes with Holley 715 double pumpers, forged crank and rods just removed from my 32' sport cruiser.(replacing them with turbo diesels)

I am doing a frame off of my 81 4 speed vette and want to build a decent sb around 300 hp. The 217 heads are good for 300, I know. Should I juice the original vette engine or pull it and use the marine. Any suggestions for the rest of the components to get me there?

Also, I am thinking of putting the other engine in my 90 Cadillac brougham (now has 307 ). What can I do to boost the Caddys git up n' go with the 350 and still keep it dignified

jomor.... One thing with the marine engines is the cam. They are designed more for low rpm torque, so you may want to just swap that out. (and thats because lots of folks try to go the other way and put an auto engine in marine application and dont do the cam change and cant get the torque needed).

Chances are also that the marine (which is all HP stuff anyway, at least the BB's are) is beefier then the stock engine.
