Did you follow the guidelines from VB&P that they list here? As they say here at the bottom of the table.
Advanced Street - These specs are designed to give an even quicker steering response with minimum tire wear. If the car is "darty", toe the car in. By toeing in, you may loose some turn-in qualities gained by the initial specs.
Yes, I did. I had the car aligned perfectly to their 'advanced street' specs. I never noticed that footnote at the bottom before, but more toe is something I am going to try anyways, along with the upper arms, and I just found out that Doc Rebuild sells an extension kit for the front spoiler! I am going to order that tomorrow.
Some of the reason behind the larger front spoilers on late model C3s was to increase the aerodynamics for increased mileage. The larger front spoiler makes the car easier to push through the air by getting the tire out of the flow of air and routing the turbulent air around it.
Dog, that 80-82 front bumper is ugly. Makes the car look like it has a bad underbite. If you really want something to fill that space up, get a Pace Car-style front spoiler (I think that still messes up the lines, but at least it doesn't jut out in a weird way).

I personally don't like the way the pace car spoiler looks on the early C3's, but Doc Rebuild sells an extension kit for the stock spoiler that I am going to try.
It's an opinion. I don't like it. If you do, great. Personally, I think they finally got the rear bumper right with the 80-82 cars, then screwed up the front.
The car has 255/50/17 tires all around. I have had other cars with tires this wide out front, and they did not exhibit these symptoms.
MY car is a '72 convertible, or WAS, i'ts a hotrod now, and among the largest things to do in handling is adding a rack/pinion setup, tires being #1 of course, my car was ill handling with the exact same tires you have, and '92 vette wheels all around, the issue is that steering input valve on the pitman arm tip.....it's in a bad spot for wide tires/handling....fine with olde tyme tyres of a early 60's design, but today's rubber is too demanding.....
so to do at least a Jeep recirculating ball box changeout, OR a rack install to correct the issue....no other choice...
