Default C3 - Security ?

My 77 comes with a stock theft control device (alarm) activated by first locking the doors, flipping a switch on the dash and then using a key on the lock just before the driver side door (next to emblem).. this is honestly a pain. I need a security system for my c3.

something that doesnt involve a steering column bar or kill switch (kill switch doesn't work on carb cars does it ?)

Which ones do you guys use ?

Somebody has really, really Bubbaed your alarm. The key switch on the fender should be the whole deal.

Kill switches don't care if there is a carb on the car, its there to kill the ignition, electric fuel pump, fuel shutoff valve etc. You can put it on however you like and hide it wherever you like, more than one even.

Kill switches do work, but if they really want it, they follow you till you park, then it goes on the flat bed, then across the border or in a shipping container to Hong Kong. I think LoJack is the only way to stop professionals.

I like the idea of tear gas jets. That should get anyone who tries to break in...

you know in Johannesburg, where car crimes are so high, some cars have flame throwers attached to the drivers side, to flambe' anyone who tries to steal the car.

I went with a combination battery disconnect with removable key, and a steering wheel disconnect. Both were a headache to find the right parts for.

I had toyed with running the distributor hot wire thru the fender key...haven't gotten to that yet, but as mentioned above....if they want it bad enough....they WILL get it....no matter what...
