Default Setting up timing

Reading Lars very fine treatise on setting up timing my only question is:

When measuring the distance Clockwise from you existing harmonic balancer timing mark to place a clear mark on the balancer from which you will time from.

Which way are you facing the car to determine clockwise?

Thanks,
Ivan

Klen,

Here are a couple of threads I saved:

http://home.earthlink.net/~pplt/timing.html
http://home.earthlink.net/~pplt/recurve.html

You may also find them (and a lot more), in Word format, on http://www.corvettefaq.com

Ivan: I believe it's clockwise when you look at the engine from the front.

Yes, Pedro is correct: my reference is looking at the engine from the front. Keep in mind that you only need to do this if you are not using an adjustable timing light. If you have an adjustable light, there is no need to measure the balancer and place a new mark on it.

For clean copies of the articles on timing, you can simply drop me an e-mail request, and I will send you copies in MS Word format:
