Any use or retrofit an alternator belt guard, similar to a tensioner, but meant to keep the belt from rising, which I think was a stock part in 80's models?

Don't know exactly what you are asking.
My 1980 does have a belt guard on the alternator belt. Keeps the belt and the upper radiator hose from meeting.
