I recently asked what new header gaskets to get and I decided on percy's alluminum gaskets.
But there arn't paper (what I'm used to) so I'm wondering , is there anything I need to put on these gaskets, The instructions don't explain ANYTHING
But I'm worried about just how well these gaskets will seal.
can anyone give me a little re-assurance here ?
Thanks
Anar76,
I missed your original post , but I have had headers for years and have found that not using gaskets is the best way to keep gaskets form leaking. I use high temp silicone sealer on the headers and they dont leak. Buy the way thats the way Chev sent out your 76 and they did not even use siliocne. If you try this, let me know how it worked for you.

I have found that cheap gaskets, a hawksaw cut almost all the way through the flange between each pipe and the normal black silicon used to assemble engines works great. I never have a problem with leaks or the silicon burning out.

I don't think that there is anything that you need to put on those gaskets. I am using Earl graghoil gaskets which have aluminum retainers. Your new gaskets won't change size with the engine heating up, so your header bolts will not come loose. I would just put them in and tighten the bolts.
