Got paid today, ordering a new 14 in drop base air cleaner, lets see if that fixes my problem.

Yep, wires are way too long, so much for the custom built MSD corvette 350 set.

Got the 14 inch air cleaner on Saturday, installed it and no more drop in rpm's when I close the hood. Guess that cured the problem. Anybody want to buy an 8 inch red moroso air cleaner??? lol.
thx to all for tips,
Cory

a small block is "supposed" to have the wires run from underneath. The front four cylinders' wires are fed through the motor mounts. All eight go down the back along the bellhousing. If you use the factory routing, they won't be too long.

I'd love to see a photo of that, clean up some of my spaghetti.

While you are messing with the wires it would be a good idea to remove and check the plugs. I say this because of the restrictive aircleaner you just replaced. You could also look at resetting the idle mixtures on the carb....because of the aircleaner
