Default Strange Voltage Readings???

Was driving home (in the dark) the other day, and I noticed something I seen before. On my '93, the orange lit up square in the center of the dash cluster (speedo) apprears to "brighten & dim" just a little bit and often.

So I brought up the VOLT display (which I never watch), and noticed that the numbers jump around very frequently. Usually between say 14.2 to 14.8, but it would sometimes go as low as 13.2, and as high as 15.2.

This just doesn't seem normal, but is it? What do you guys think?
If it is it a problem, might it just be the alternator?

If other lights on your car are not dimming in the same way its probably not the alt. You can also verify the alternator by putting a DVM on the alternator & compare it to your cars voltmeter. If the alt is good then suspect faulty wiring to the car's voltage monitoring cmponents.
