I’m about the place an order for a true dual system with Corvette Central. Magnaflow mufflers are a $37 dollar upgrade. Is it worth it? I’m looking for a nice deep sound, no resonance and not too loud at idle (louder at WOT is OK). No offense but I don’t want the metallic, Mustang GT sound.
I should have added that I don't know what type of Magnaflow it is, so I imagine it's an "entry level" model. The Magnaflow website doesn't show any C3 applications (just C4 - C6).

I've got straight thru Magnaflows (don't remember what type: 2 1/2" side in & center out) on mine--nice mellow purr, no tinny Flowmaster sound, excellent CFM. Figure the CFM requirement at 2.2 CFM per engine horsepower, divide by 2 for duals: 350 EHP X 2.2 = 770 CFM % 2 = 385 CFM required each muffler.

Me too i have true dual with x pipe 21/2" behind a strong 383,magnaflow s/s at rear....deep quiet burble till about 3500rpm then they sound fantastic(but i'm going so fast i'm leaving the sound behind)...john
Kinda quiet for my taste but they do sound good. A little throaty, my friend has them on his 77 (355). Old muscle car sound. Like flowmasters without the constant low drone.
My stock square ones for the '73 only had a 2" inlet, so I just had the exhaust man run the 2 1/2" tailpipes about an inch past the car with a bologna cut on the end. I then fabbed up some escutcheons from sheetmetal to fill the rectangular holes and hose clamped them to the pipes and painted 'em flat black. I cut oval holes in the plates so they could mount at an angle to match the angle of the back of the car, and left tabs to fold over for clamping. They are recessed about an inch. Looks OK....I'd like to make some stainless ones in the future, but it's pretty low on my priority list right now.
