Hi all
Regarding my post on my speedometer problem

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1388601

I was hoping some of you 73 owners take a look at your speedometer and reply as to wether or not yours shows Kilometers as well as MPH

I need to replace mine and dont know which guage to buy... With or without Kilometers.

Thanks in advance for any help with this issue.

According to My restoration book the KPH did not appear on
speedometers until 1975.

Not sure if this will help, but here is a picture of my 1974 speedometer.

My 1973 speedo is 0-160 MPH, no kilometers. Resto book says KPH did not appear until 1975.

Thanks VERY much all
I dont know how my 73 wound up with a KPH speedometer... It was built in the USA and sold in the USA, Ive spoken to both owners before me, plowed through all the invoices for parts and service done on the car in the last 15 years and no evidence of changing out the speedometer

Next Question
Anybody know if it's possible to set a brand new Delco unit to the same milage as the one I'm going to remove?
It's pretty important to me as I have Collector Car Insurance and am only allowed to drive a certain amount of miles per year.

Thanks again

Default 1973 Speedo

I've got a 1973 built in the USA for sale in Canada. My speedo is in MPH not KPH.

Bob,
It's pretty easy to remove the odometer from the new speedo head and set it at whatever mileage you want. Just pop the side spring clips off the tumbler and it will come right out. You'll be able to figure out pretty easily how to rotate it to the desired mileage and re-install.
