Default throttle cable help please

well i finally got the oil pan and carb sorted out with the invaluable help of the members here.now it's the throttle cables turn to get it.
i stupidley sold my original q-jet and went with a holley, that was a nightmare,i found an old q-jet and rebuilt it.along the way i put in a square bore excellerator intake and subsequently had to add the adapter plate to get back to the q-jet(a diffrent one).....anyhow....i made an adjustable bracket for the throttle (and added the kickdown for the new th350).the throttle cable has an S shape in it so bad that the pedal sticks(yet another story) there is another hole that looks like it will take a lot less stroke(will solve problem maybe)but i have to get the flared pivot out and move it down to test my theory.has anyone done this?can the throttle cable covers be shortened and the cable re-crimped to make it fit instead of the planned "arm surgery"
anyone done this?or close?

I did this custom job with the stock cable and bracket to make it work; I've have now installed a Lokar cable.

i've been searching the barn to find a clamp for the end of the coaster brakes for a bicycle.if i can use this as an end i can cut what i need out of the cable cover and the S curve will be gone.worst i can do is need a new cable. i'm almost out of cash and about 95 % complete, once this is resolved i can get it inspected and away i go.
