Default Rad hose collapsing

My upper hose sprung a leak yesterday and I discovered that it had a cut underneath where the fan could have nicked it. I put in a new hose and while driving today after it was warmed up I stopped and restarted the car and the upper hose collapsed causing the fan to slice another hole in the hose. I got another hose hooked it up and it too is collapsing upon shutting the car down after hitting the thermostat temp. What can cause this? thanks Jim

got to have air in the system somewhere. With it full of liquid it can't colapse

Slowly release the cap when the hose is collapsed and see if in re-inflates. A bad cap can cause it.

Sounds to me like the little valve in the cap that allows fluid back into the radiator from the recovery tank is stuck shut. A new cap should fix the problem.

Sounds like you have the wrong radiator cap. The correct one will allow air or fluid to be sucked back in when the motor cools down.
