Out of curiousity, could you put the chrome bumpers as from a 68-72 vette on an 82' ? If so, what would something like this cost to do ? Would you need to remove the rubber bumper it has, etc ?
It's not a bolt-on/swap project. Takes some fabrication and lots o' expensive parts. And, you'll end up with a cross-bred pile that'll sell for less than what your conversion cost. Spend the $$$ on a "real" chromie.

Don't do that. You have an example of the last year of the C3 body design.
To do that you need to remove your rubber bumpers, remove brackets related to your bumpers, install the brackets related to chrome bumpers, install front directional lights crates, install front center grille, new front and rear bumpers, etc. You will waste over $2,500 only in parts to modify your Vette. That do not include labor and paint. Don't do that because you will modify innecessary the body and the fenders
and your Vette will depreciate.
Use that money to improve the conditions (i.e. restoration) of your Vette.
