The owner of a repair shop that I use gave me this. It’s a center bracket for dual exhaust. I have a dual exhaust kit arriving soon and would prefer using this setup instead of drilling into the frame for the additional bracket
Question. How does this thing mount?
Below the cross member?
Above the cross member, below the transmission mount?
It appears as though it once had a tranmission mount sitting on top of it.
Thanks

Looks to me as though it would go below the trans mount, but it looks like it would be to long for my 73 mt, but if yours is at it might fit. Then you clamp the exahust to it.

I think.?????
1 trans
2 trans rubber mount attached to front of crossmember
3i.e crossmember
4 exhaust pipe hanger brackets(somewhere in there)
5 muffler brackets would be toward rear of car by gas tank
Transmission
Muffler Mount
Transmission Mount
Crossmember
It goes here. BUT.....the bracket you pictured is for a 4speed. The one for a 350 trans looks like half of that one with the original single bracket welded on to it. The 400 trans. bracket is different still. There are 3 different brackets available, make sure you get the 350 trans. bracket.
Check out pt. no. 618-957 from Mid America.

PS. the best way to get it in there is to remove the trans mount bolts, jack up the tail end of the trans, REMOVE the mount and then slip the mount WITH the bracket back in TOGETHER.

I have an automatic. Wonderful. I was hoping to avoid drilling holes in the frame. I'll look into the Mid-America part. This is the hanger that Corvette Central provides:

Note the link I added above....and I don't think Corvette Central even lists the 350 trans bracket.
If you have your single bracket, maybe you can cut and weld something together. The passenger side pipe comes in at an angle requiring a bracket with a long reach. Drivers side has stuff in the way requiring a very short reach, which explains the 4speed bracket which points rearward.
