I have the autometer Ultra-Lite gauges in my car, and I started it up yesterday for the first time and noticed the temp gauge climbed very quickly, a lot more quickly than the stock one.
I am talking 15 to 30 seconds running time. The engine wasnt that hot, I could touch it fine. I had put aluminum heads on over the winter and a stock "replacement" temp sender in the head. I bought the gauge that works with the GM senders. I am wondering what everyone else did, that did this gauge swap?? Did you put the autometer sender in??
The only other thing I can think of, is i put the SPAL programmable fan controlle ron the car and that splices off of the factory sender...could that mess with the signal to the gauge??
i've got the ultra lites also. i used the autometer sender and stuck it in the top of the water pump and put the fan controller sender in the intake, works perfect. don't know what to tell ya cept good luck to ya.
