Norval tested some spark plug extenders with an adjustable angle at the end...maybe those would do the trick to avoid hitting the headers. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1374813
Make sure your current won't jump from the plug wires to the header. Good luck
I am learning towards a header flange and 2 sets of header gaskets.
maybe... Flip them over so they point up weld a short stainless 90 and the turbo flange to the collector and wala...
A 4 inch hole saw and dump the exhaust through the hood. Let them turbo's peak out a little. with a totally stock looking body. It will scare the SH*T out of the ricers. A N20 bottle and a purge nozzle, just for show
The earlier 80s because the later 80s went to the D shaped port 85-87 I believe
Later C4's (86+) had angle plug heads, so what you really need are manifolds off a later car. If that is you are bound and determined to use C4 manifolds.
....distance from the heads to the steering mechanism, and from the exhaust down to the motor mount....
If the other clearances will let you, you could machine the flange at an angle to make the bottom kick out. That with short plugs, a little dent, and a band of header wrap to protect the boot. Might work.

I thought about it and you wouldnt be able to get the bolt holes to line up.
