What would cause an engine to load up? I noticed my car starts to load up when it sits at idle for any length of time.
The car hasn't been driven for quite a while and I'm wondering if that might have something to do with it.
I added some of that Berryman's fuel additive to the tank hoping it might remove any moisture or deposits from the tank / carburetor.
if its a holley lightly tap on the float adjustment on the primary bowl
this may free it up. Take a wrench an keep lightly tapping it or the
wood end of a hammer. Light taps.

Sounds like the power piston may be varnished up , and stuck in the enrichment position with the rods pulled up out of the jets , since it hasn't had any vacuum to pull it down against the spring while the car's been sitting.
Suggest you pull off the air cleaner , and spray some carb cleaner down the vent tube at the front of the carb , which is right over the power piston/rod hanger. Since the airhorn gasket is flapped over the hanger , it will probably take several good shots to get it to seep past the gasket. You can also use a stiff piece of plastic or wood rod that will fit down the vent , and LIGHTLY push down on the hanger in between shots of cleaner. If the power piston is operating freely , you will be able to feel it move down and spring back up with the engine not running.
