Rock 'N Roll Them Valves
Whats better/stronger, extruded or billet aluminum?
Are the stainless THAT much stronger/heavier than aluminum to justify the price?
Anybody out there using Scorpion brand rollers??
Thanks guys
Eddie
in the valve trane aluminum gouges easy, chromemoly steel is very
strong and worth the extra money to me.

Heaven help you if the aluminum gets up against
a chromemoly pushrod or a steel / titanium retainer.
If you are racing the aluminum rocker may be worth one or
two hp, I would think steel would be better for a long life.
Summit prices Crane gold $309.95 for the 7/16 stud, comps steel
259.88 for 7/16 stud.

Have a near-new set of aluminum Crane Gold Race roller rockers for sbc. 1.5:1 RAR for 7/16" stud. Includes Crane polylocks. They have not been ground on & do not have any spring or retainer scarring at all. These came off a good-running circle track motor with only a few races on it. No valve train damage, rockers look & feel as new. They were pushing relatively mild cam & springs (.480" lift solid flat tappet, 1.460" springs w/120 pounds on seat). These are about $300/set new; FIRM $225 now. NO disappointment ... if you don't like them when you get them, return them & I'll refund all of purchase price.
