Default 350 Harmonic Balancer

I am building a 1974 Corvette 350. I don't have the original harmonic balance and plan on buying an aftermerket one. What diameter do I need,or does the diameter matter? Will any 350 balancer work? thanx

The L-82's got the eight incher,..and I'm thinking the L-48 may have the same size as well.

Are you using the original timing cover? If so, the timing tab will tell you if you should use the larger (8") or smaller balancer (6.75",..I think).

What I've noticed is that engines that have the larger 14" flywheel/flexplate get the larger balancer and the engines with the 12.5" flywheel have the smaller balancer.

But since your 350 is neutrally balanced, I don't think it matters which sized balancer you use unless you're wishing a 'correct' appearance.
