Default Can you identify this part?

Have a friend with a 70 small block. He asked me to help him identify this part. He has spoke to a couple of vendor's, but they haven't been much help. Does anyone know what the part is circled in red?

Thanks

I'll check tomorrow, but I dont think I have that... then again, we re-did all the wiring a few years back... no clue what we tore out, cause we tore it ALL out.

Take it out. If it still runs, you don't need it!

I know. Not much help. Us guys with 68s have to sit in the corner and watch everyody else have fun.

Order the assembly instruction manual (AIM); it'll be in there. It is not a horn relay; it is not a ballast resistor; it could be the power window relay.

Looks alot like the relay I found in my '69 engine bay:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1260106

Only in my car it was hanging loose, over near the A/C box. I assumed it was a blower relay as Lars suggested.

Default Cowl Hood Flaper?

Not sure how the hood works on a Cowl inducted vettes (looks like a cowl inducted car? 73-??) But on the other chevs with the cowl hoods have an electric solinoid that operates the flaper at the back of the hood. Maybe realy for that function? Connected to the gas pedal like the th400 kick down switch. Activates the flaper when pedal is at full throttle

Here is what is on my very original 72:

Horn relay - up front near the rad
TCS timer relay - under the dash below the speaker
ballast resistor - don't have one, have a resistor wire
TCS solenoid - mounted on the carb, right side

It could be the window switch but those that I have seen have an orange wire instead of any other color.

I recall that relay on mine, tore it off, never did find out what it was for. I thought it was a spark noise filter or something odd like that.
i know it's not a power window relay, cause my windows still work.

Another vote here for TCS delay relay. The power window relay is located under the center console bezel.
