Can any experts out there tell me the purpose of the vacuum line from the vapour canister to a bulkhead switch ??.
My workshop manual tells me it a TRANS CONN VAC SWITCH.
The previous owner of my 80 changed the Rochester for a Holley 600 and left the upper hoses dangling. I guess they won't reconnect to the Holley as there is no provision for them. I can recover the hoses and the canister, but what was the function of that switch ?.
In late 79 to 81 GM installed lock-up torque converters with TH350's. The converter was controlled by vacuum to a switch on the firewall. High vacuum in cruising gear (above approx. 15") would close the contacts and lock the converter.
