Default Clutch intall question

Hey guys, long time no post. Here's the deal - just had 327 rebuilt and getting ready for a cousin to put her back in Sat am. I have been spending most of my time getting things together so the day will run smooth. I just finished intalling manifords and cleaned up all wiring, ps pump, alternator, and did a real nice cleanup under the hood. Flywheel is installed and I want to get clutch started. It is a new stock clutch 1968 327 couple with muncie close ratio. I am looking for a good step by step site/book explanation if possible.

Appreciate the help
Tony

I'm not an expert but I did mine last fall. A few tips that may save some problems. Make sure the input shaft fits into the pilot bearing. Get the throwout bearing in correctly. The plastic alignment tool that comes with most clutches in junk so try and fine something better ( I was lucky and had a old input shaft). Cut the heads off some long bolts that fit the trans holes and put them into the top 2 holes. It makes it easy to slide the trans on. I'm sure others will add to this.
Good luck
Bob

well, I got to agree the plastic tool is a pos, I never used a real one. What I was tought to do, if the motor is out. Assemble the pressure plate and clutch plate on the flywheel with the bolts finger tight. Manually align the plate with the pressure plate my feeling around the edges with your fingers. There is plenty or room under the pressure plate to check it. Then snug all the bolts down. I have done this a Bunch of times and it always worked, never had a problem lining up the tranny except for the one time I used the plastic tool.
