What is this part called?
What is the vacuum and heater cable operated switch that sits on top of the heater box, under the passenger side dask? Not the one under the hood.
Mine has broke and I cannot find out what the part is called in my manuals to order a new one.
Thanks for the help.

Talk to the used parts guys like Gary Gruhala in DeSoto, MO, or put an ad in the "C3 Parts" section. I'm sure someone has a useable one around.

They have been available from GM. I cant get to my parts books tonight, but if you give that part number to your GM parts guy, he can get the group number and thus look up the correct part for the sharks.

I still have a complete heater box I could remove the parts you want off, shipping should be a couple of dollars, not too bad

TT: That is a generous offer.
Do you have this part and what would your shipping be over the pond?

Try Bowden cable assembly. It's a combination of cable, switch and vacuum ports so it operates off a mechanical cable as well as vacuum.

I'll have to look if that is on my heater box, I don't recall seeing anything that resembles that, are the later heater boxes different?
