I recently had the auto tranny on my 71 vette changed to a T5 manual. I have noticed that since this change was made there has been a noticeable amount of whitish smoke from the exhaust when shifting through the gears. Is this normal? My oil level is okay as is my oil pressure.

How many miles on the engine and how are the compression readings? With an automatic trans you don't let off the gas when you shift. You do so with a manual trans unless you're speedshifting.
If the engine is smoking when you let off the gas to shift, the most common thing to blame is the valve seals. If that's the case, it makes sense that you never noticed the smoke before the transmission change (although you would have seen it upon deceleration before the swap).
White smoke? isnt that indicative of water or coolant getting into the system? If so could be a big problem. If it were Blue smoke, then I would agree with it being oil possibly getting past the seals. Do you have any white residue in the oil from the filler cap or dipstick?
I do see smoke when letting off the gas to shift--no other times but this. The engine is new with less than 5000 miles on it. I see no coolant issues or oil issues. If the engine is burning too rich, could this be a cause?
I changed my spark plugs today and noticed the old ones to be wet and coated with oil and/or gas. Would this have any effect on the whitish exhaust smoke?
