Default cyclinder head casting numbers on my L48

I just took the valve cover off of my 76 L48 and found the cylinder heads to be 882 castings. I thought that the 882 castings were the castings for the L82 engine. I had been told at one time that the engine was rebuilt in the past, and I have also checked the numbers on the block and found it to be numbers matching. I am not worried about not having an all original engine, I just thought that that number was the L82 casting. Could someone please clarify this?

According to My resto book the 882 castings were used on both
L 48 and L 82 engines in 75 and 76 .

All small block Corvettes and many other Chevys used those early smog heads from '74 through '77. They were/are quite common. 76cc chambers and either 1.94"/1.5" valves or 2.02"/1.6" valves. The valves were bigger when they were assembled for L-82 engines and they were also fitted with guideplates but that is about all there is that is different.
