Default offset third member, RC , and going straight

The more I read the more confused I get. I am in the process of backhalving a 75 vette frame. I have set up the rear subframe and am getting ready to tack the 4 link bracets to the ford 9 inch housing. My plan was to offset the differential a bit to give a straight shot back from the engne to the third member. That means unequal length axle tubes. The passenger side tube being shorter then the drivers side to make up for the 1 3/4 " offset of the engine. The housing as a whole will still be centered as will the 4 link brackets but I have added another 3/4" offset to the differential location on top of the pinion offset. Will this affect the roll center adversly. I am not making a corner carver for sure but it has to go straight when I drop the hammer. I am referencing three different books, Door Slammers: The Chassis Book ( Morgan ), Chassis Engineering ( Adams ), and How to Make Your Car Handle ( Puhn ) but can't find the info I am looking for. if anyone knows the answer or could point me to a source i would apprecciate it.

The engine/trans in a C3 is offset (from center line) 1 inch to the passenger side. The difference in the measurement is 2 inches but the distance from center is only half of that. If you want to check, measure your motor mount support brackets, one is 2 inches longer than the other. The pinion on a C3 is offset (from center line) 1/2 inch to the passenger side.

Sounds like you could get away with equal length tubes.

Ford and their 9 inch axles always ran one short and one long axle. I see no problem with running 2 different length axles with your setup.
