Hello everyone,
First question:Has any one out there pulled a fuse panel out of a 74 for inspection, and if so has anyone upgraded their panel from "Glass Fuses" to the "Blade Type"???
Second question does anyone have problems with their brake master cylinder being wet with brake fluid?I have checked the lid gasket and it appears to be sealing O.K. !!!
Thanks in advance.
Sorry it was actually three questions....
Yes and Yes, and it's probably leaking where it meets the booster. I used the fuse panel, harness and ECM from an 87 GM van. Turned it upside down and used the same screw holes. I think the connector on the engine side of the firewall would have plugged into it if I'd chose to use it. The wire colors for all the lights, etc. were the same. In my case it made for a clean installation.
Hey thanks racer,I do belive that will be of great help because the harness is a bit "Troubled" as well.I didn't think about that on the brakes either I guess the master cylinder is soaking the fluid so to speak instead of a drip.
Thanks again!!!!

Re: 2 Questions ????? (74 Vette)
My master cylinder also leaks around the lid as well. The first gasket looked just fine, but I replaced it with a new one.
That one seeps as well, but not so much that I worry about it at all.
If you have a leak at master cylinder lid area, and a new gasket does not stop the leak, suggest you remove gasket and set the lid on the master cylinder resivoir, and check to see that it fully seats the entire area. I had a chrome cover which although new, did not. Solution is too mark and grind out interferance area, or to take a hammer and tap on the lid to force the proper spacing in the lid area, then re-install gasket. Also make sure that the lid clips are bent in a fashion so that they fit tightly over the lid.
