Here's a strange one. I have a 68 with a worn out brake lamp switch. Finding a replacement switch has proved to be difficult. It is not a usual brake lamp switch as it is has a shaft mounted lever on it which contacts the brake pedal arm. I would appreciate any help or leads on a source for a replacement.
Hey Larry,
I'm in the same boat concerning the switch. This question came up on the NCRS board and a source was given as: "reproduced by Specialty Parts of Atlanta, GA and/or they have a supply of NOS examples. You can call them at 770-270-1116."
I haven't made the call yet, if you do, let me know how you come out.
I just made the call. Number changed to: 334-493-1240. Results the same. Unavailable. Sorry.
Ahh, the 68 only brake switch. I have seen them on Ebay. They go for $50+ used and they are unreliable. I drilled holes in my pedal ***'y, bought some 69 switch brackets and a $6 NAPA switch and replaced it. If you do this, make sure your striker bracket is for a power or manual car (whichever the case may be).
