Default Rear spring - short main leaf ?

Is the 1 1/2" shorter Guldstrand main leaf worth the money or should I just shorten the leaf that I have ??
TIA

Shorten the leaf you have but only on one end. NOT both. Cut just past the hole, drill a new hole using a sharp drill bit, lots of oil and slow speed. Then measure 1/2 way between each large hole and drill a new 3/8th hole for assemblying the spring. It is really simple if you have a good drill press since a hand drill turns way too fast.

That's what I thought, I'll have to buy a drill press. I can adjust the speed on my hand drill but I expect it to be a PITA to drill that spring steel
Including shipping that new leaf is probably as expensive as a drill press from Homedepot

I bought the shortened, upgraded (its thicker than the stock one) rear main leaf from Guldstrand.
Just seemed less trouble then cutting/drilling the original one.
Call Bobby at Guldstrand,...very helpful bunch.
