Speedo cable?
About 3/4 of the way to Carlisle, the Speedometer starts making a terrible noise. The needle moves smoothly and doesn't jump around. Could this be a problem with the cable? Maybe something else?

What kind of noise?? Usual indication of bad cable, is when the needle is jumping/bouncing around, if smooth needle, sounds more like something internal in the speedometer. Is your tripometer still functioning? Are you sure the noise is coming from the speedometer? Sorry I haven't been more help.

The needle isn't jumping around and the odometer is working. The sound is a loud
ticking that seems to increase tempo with engine speed. Tach seems ok. The noise
is definately coming from the dash around the speedo...
