Default Need frame part...HELP

After installing my eng. I found a few problems. First, the eng was very hard to line up. And then when I did get it in,I found that the tail shaft was about 3-4" to the pass side of the trans mount. The other problem is that the eng is tilted up on the pass side. So I removed the eng and I find that the r/side frame horn for the mount is about 1 1/2" higher than the driver side. And it is twisted. So I tracked down a paper in the archives,to give me all the dimensions, and I measured from all points indicated. Every thing else is fine except for the r/side mount horn. So then I look on the net to try to find the frame part I need, and I can't find it anywhere. Any tips on where I can find a pass. side frame horn for a 69 vert w/manual trans. Or any tips for when I change the frame horn would be appreciated.

Sly

I just went through this with my car. I had to modify the passenger side mount to allow the motor and tranny to sit properly. I also was modifying the tranny mount for the T-5, but if your drivetrain is original youshouldn't have to do this. Here's the whole tread on the subject:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1391101

I used plum lines and measured the whole car out, an angle level and a regular level to be sure the motor/tranny were properly aligned before modifying the poly mount and permanently welding up the tranny mount.

If your frame is bent it can be reset to the proper location, if it's damaged replacing it would be more costly. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
I read this in the past, doing research, and it gave me the info I need to assemble my driveline. What I need now is the new frame horn for the mount. I can't seem to find one anywhere.

I may not be understanding completely, but if you are talking about the engine mount that welds to the frame I have either side. Just send me an email.

John

Here is a picture of the mounts I have.
