Fuse Warning
The other day I got stuck in the rain driving home and went to turn on the wipers. Guess what? Nothing. Luckily it wasn't raining hard and I was almost home. Once I got home I pulled the fuse (my first guess) and found it completely corroded. I decided to check the others. Sure enough, most were corroded.
I had an incident last year where the fuse for the fan (not the engine, but interior) had melted and almost destoyed my fuse box. Forum members had suggested that the corrosion increased the resistance of the fuse which caused it to heat up, but since the corrosion bridged the two sides of the fuse, it didn't blow. I guess I should have taken the time back then to check all the fuses.
This problem seems inevitable since you have an aluminum fuse connected to a brass fuse box. So I suggest if you haven't already, get in there and clean and replace before it's too late.
