I'm new to the corvette and need some information about my 82.
When I put the car into drive it seems to engage harder than the average
car and actually lowers the car. It doesnt bang or grind, but you can feel a noticable engagement, its just not smooth. Also, when the car is put into reverse it raises the rear end and produces a somewhat lesser amount of engagement. The car is idling at 800 R.P.M. and otherwise runs and shifts fine. Is this normal ?
Thanks
Jeff

The stiffer the spring, the less squat you're going to get. The more torque your engine has, the more squat you're going to get. An engineer at my old job (who was also a Vette guy) and I worked out the physics of it one day. For the most part, it's just inherent to Zora's IRS design.
