Lot's of guys are installing spreader bars between the front shock towers. I am considering this as it seems to be cost effective and everyone has posted positive results with theirs. How much HP are you running that you want to beef up the frame?
600 to 650 on conservative tune on 12 lbs of boost. 700 to a max of 800 at the crank hp with methonal finely tuned is the ultimate goal. I like the spreader bar idea! on a 275 40 17 inch mickey thompson et street tire.
If you really intend to make your frame stiff you need to go with
more then 6. A 6 point would not do much to help the torsional stiffness
start thinking 10 to 12 point

Agreed, if you're really serious go with a full cage, however my five point bar stiffened things up significantly.
Short of a cage, you might try the 68-75 convertible "X" under the frame. It won't change the looks of the Corvette a bit, and can be removed if you ever need to.
Hey Spike, I would like to see picture of that x brace. Been all over our 73 vert for past 15 years never seen anything different under it. May be you have a optional deal.
