I'm looking at a 1971 Convertible, and not sure if numbers match engine. The problem is the engine suffix is K0701 CNR, and everywhere I look on the internet CNR is not a 71 Corvette engine suffix. But the VIN number is stamped on the block and matches #194671S108157 K0701 CNR, and block cast is 3970010. Does anyone know if these numbers are correct for a 1971 350 Corvette Motor? Appreciate your help.

CNR indicates a 1970 350/300hp smallblock meant for a GM passenger car with automatic transmission. K0701 indicates the engine was assembled on 7/1/70 at the St. Catherines, Ontario engine facility. Corvette smallblocks were assembled at Flint (coded V). Your VIN suggests a January 71 build date so the existing engine is older than your Corvette. It may be coincidence, but Camaros were assembled at St. Catherines.
You may want to check with the NCRS or the '71 Registry for confirmation. There was a work stoppage at St. Louis from about mid-September through about the end of November 1970 which served to provide some screwy engine stamps for the '71 models.
"Corvette by the Numbers" shows codes CGT,CJK,CJL,CGY and CGZ for 71' Vette small blocks. There is no listing for any year with code CNR, so it's not a Vette motor as Easy Mike suggests.
